Regent Bowerbird and 1, 2, 3 girlfriends

As well as being incredibly good looking the male Regent Bowerbird is also artistically talented.  They are known to mix a muddy greyish blue or pea green “saliva paint” in their mouths which they use to decorate their bowers – nests, like little houses on the ground. Regents will sometimes use wads of greenish leaves as “paintbrushes” to help spread the substance, representing one of the few known instances of tools used by birds.

No wonder the one that hangs around near here has 3 girlfriends.
